Family Pictures

My friend Shayna is an amazing photographer and she was so nice to take some family pics a few weeks ago. We were literally outside for 15 minutes, because it was so cold. (Our luck the one day we pick is freezing cold). But thanks to our good looks and her skills, we got some amazing pics of it. Enjoy!

What Could It Be?

Yesterday we went in for my midterm ultrasound and, you guessed it, found out the gender of our baby! We found out that it's a GIRL!

We are so excited, excited to meet this new little girl in March, excited to use all of Sophia's old clothes (and save money!) and excited that we don't have to repaint the nursery! I don't know if Sophia fully understands that she is getting a sister and what that all entails, but come a a year from now, when baby wants to play with her stuff, she'll know.

Here is the pic from the ultrasound:

What you see above the head is her little hand, waving to us. She was perfect and healthy in everyway, that she wouldn't be is always the biggest concern heading into the ultrasound. So now we've only got 19 weeks to go! :)

PS As a bonus to those who read our blog, I will hint what the name of the baby is going to be: We are naming her after my favorite fictional heroine. And to answer your next question, no I did not like Twilight. So there's one name off your list.

Sophia-isms

When I had Sophia, I thought that she couldn't get any cuter or more fun than when she was sleeping, pooping and eating. (not in necessiairly in that order). But as she has gotten older, she has proved me wrong, especially now that she can talk conherently and interact on a more grown up level. Like telling me when she pooped. But I think most parents of toddlers agree that toddlers say the darnest, funniest things. So I thought I'd write down a few of Sophia's.

I already mentioned this on Facebook, but when Matt and I went to SLC, I left her at my parents and when we left, I told her to be good for Grandma. She replied, "Ok. You be good for Daddy." And I was!

Sophia's favorite songs right now are "Man in the Mirror" by MJ and "Never Say Never" by the Fray. Sometimes when I creep in the playroom and watch her play for a while, I can catch her singing "I'm starting with the man in the mirror..." or "Don't let me go..." to her princess dolls. Better than the Wiggles any day.

When she's mad at us, she sometimes doesn't come right out and say it. Sometimes she'll sleep on it, and as we get her out of bed, she'll tell us, "Sorry I was mad at you." And all I can think of is, "For what?"

And lastly, just tonight, she said, "Wah, wah, waaaahh", in a sad voice, similar to when in cartoons, something bad happens. It cracked me up.

Sophia's my very funny, very silly girl.

A Dream Come True

When I started blogging, there was few things I wanted to accomplish-- a million hits, readers all over the world, and a spot on Oprah and a book deal, among other things.

Well, today I get to do one of the the other things. Looking on other people's blogs they have cute gadgets, fun sayings that move and blink, and the holy grail of them all--the countdown ticker. And now I have a valid excuse to put one on my blog, not just any countdown ticker, but a pregnancy ticker!!

Yes friends, Matt and I are expecting baby #2. He or she is due March 28th of next year. We are all very excited in the Warren home. Matt with his hopes of a boy, me with the dreams of late nights, no sleep and mustardy diapers, and Sophia with the future plans of teasing, hair pulling, pushing and all other older sibling duties.

So as things go along, I will let you know whether the baby giving me morning sickness is Raven Suzette Warren or Moss Gregory Warren.*

*Not actual names we are considering. They were in my Parents magazine and were absolutely ridiculous. My apologies to those named Raven or Moss.

Catch Up

I've been horribly lazy the past few weeks on updating this. I wish I could give a really good reason why, like I was trapped underneath thousands of really heavy pillows. (Heavy but light enough not to crush me). Or that I've been training for the Iron Man competition, so in my free time I've been running and swimming and practicing other hard Iron Man things. Sadly, it's just that I am lazy. So here is a quick rundown of the past month.

Matt started coaching Ryan's 6th grade football team. So on most nights, from 6-8, he is busy teaching the important life skills of catching a ball and crushing an opponent. He loves it. So far they are 0-2, but it's not really about whether you win or lose. I'm trying to remember what it's really about, but I drawing a blank! If I remember I will let you know.

Our lawn is coming in really great! But now we remember the downside to having a lawn as opposed to a field of weeds: you have to mow it. I don't know if I can handle 30-40 more years of that.

We went to Lagoon with my family as back to school vacation. It does not improve the second time around in a year.

Sophia got a big girl bed! With this increase in independence, she is now bugging us for a later curfew and to use the car on the weekends. I'm really hesitant to let her, at least until she mows the lawn.

That's been our month! I'll add a picture to the blog, because I feel like I am letting people down or they are not getting the most bang for their buck reading this, unless I include some picture. Preferably of Sophia. This is her with her bear she got to 'build' in SLC. She very cleverly called it Cinderella.

Southern California Trip

A couple of weeks ago, we headed down to the unbearable heat of Southern California for two reasons. One, for a reunion of Matt's mom's side of the family. You can probably guess the second reason. Unfortunately I didn't any real pictures of the reunion, which was a lot of fun and my first chance to meet some of Matt's cousins and aunts and uncle. The only ones I got were from the Miss Hawkins Pageant. Where Matt dressed as a girl. And wore my swimsuit. I will spare him the humiliation of having them posted on our blog AND Facebook. So if you want to see them, just head over to my Facebook profile. :)

The second part of our trip was a lot of fun as well. We went with my parents and brother. Sophia, of course, loved every bit of the trip and keeps asking me when we are going back. I think our pictures are pretty self explanatory.

July

I've been so far behind on writing on events. I get on the computer and get distracted by a hundred other things. July has been busy, we had a great 4th of July with family, eating fudge and swedish fish and playing with sparklers.

Last weekend Matt and I went to SLC to go to a concert. The Fray. It was fanatastic! A little story about this-- we wanted to go see them the first time they came to SLC, which was the summer of 2007. Unfortunatly, we were going to be in California during the concert and we just couldn't figure out how we would of managed it anyway with Sophia being 3 months old. So lo and behold with the release of a new CD they came back to SLC! We had alot of fun, just being together without Sophia, sleeping in, taking naps, and shopping without worrying about tantrums (though Matt was pretty close towards the end). The Fray were great live as was the opening band, Jack's Mannequin. It was at the USANA Ampitheatre, so we got a nice cool breeze, some rain drops, and beautiful view of the valley at night.
